Alpha Kappa Psi is the oldest and largest Professional Business Fraternity in existence. We were founded in 1904 and have been growing ever since. We have chapters throughout the United States, and the world. AKPsi is a co-educational fraternity based on the ideals of brotherhood, knowledge, integrity, service, and unity. We are currently holding our Spring RUSH from 1/18–1/27. Please stop by our informational table outside of Glass 107 for more information or check out our website at http://mostateakpsi.com/. We would love to get to know you better, and have you get to know a little bit more about us as well.
Student Affiliates of the American Chemical Society (SA-ACS) is for everyone who’s interested in chemistry! As affiliates of the world’s largest scientific society, we travel to represent the University at conferences and keep up to date about important developments in our field. We stay networked and we get connected with relevant service opportunities. We provide an organized student voice and look out for each other by forming study groups. And–maybe most importantly–we have a lot of fun doing it all! If you’re interested in “the Central Science”
and want to get involved with other students who share your outlook, come join us at one of our meetings on the second Wednesday of every month at 5:00 pm in Temple 001.
Sigma Nu – Theta Sigma was founded at Missouri State University in 1972, and remained a strong force on campus for 30 years. However, in 2003 the chapter was closed for straying away from their core values. But with the support of the University, alumni and students on campus, Sigma Nu is back here at Missouri State with an entirely different group of individuals who have an amazing opportunity to build the fraternity from the ground up. After being on campus for less than a year they have already won 1st place in Greek Jam and 3rd overall in Greek Week spring 2010, showing that they are still a force on campus and here to stay. Sigma Nu is an international fraternity, with hundreds of chapters across the U.S. and Canada and hundreds of thousands of brothers throughout the world. They were founded over a century ago, in direct opposition to hazing and strive to live up to the intentions of their founding fathers. The Fraternity’s values are summarized as an adherence to the principles of brotherly Love, Honor, and Truth. Sigma Nu is also the only Greek organization to implementation the LEAD program to assist their membership in both gaining the knowledge and developing the skills and abilities needed to be an effective and ethical leader for life. An acronym for Leadership, Ethics, Achievement, and Development, the LEAD Program is a comprehensive ethical leadership development program designed to ensure participants “learn by doing.” Above all Sigma Nu is a brotherhood, and the bonds and memories formed between the members will last a lifetime. Fraternity, for them, is all about supporting one another, and working together to build a far richer college experience than any would have otherwise.
The Residence Hall Association (RHA) plans programs and events designed to entertain and educate residents. Members have opportunities to meet new people and travel to other universities and learn about leadership development.
In addition, RHA acts as the voice of the residence halls on issues affecting our on-campus students. RHA provides opportunities to get involved and have a great time! Come join RHA every Monday from 4-6 PM in PSU 313 for our General Assembly meetings and learn more about all the great things RHA has to offer.
