A boss with emotional intelligence (or EQ) can lower attrition and burnout rates among employees. This is according to recent surveys by the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence.
Individuals with high EQ are aware of personal strengths and weaknesses. They also comprehend how others are affected by their actions.
Dr. Robert Jones, professor of psychology at Missouri State University, provided his thoughts to Talent Economy.
“Anything that deals with high-stakes human decision-making” requires a high level of EQ, Jones said. This is especially true for managers and business executives.
