Chomping lawns – and hearts – animal lawn mowing is trending

MSU expert Dr. Elizabeth Walker says animals have a long history of working alongside humans.

Are you ready for a sheep-over? Many homeowners are renting grass-grazing ruminants like goats, sheep and cattle to keep their lawns from looking unruly.

The sale of new gas-powered lawn equipment is banned across parts of the United States, such as California. Now, ruminants have chomped their way into the lawns and hearts of homeowners, universities and local governments alike. To help educate residents on this green alternative, Lawn Love turned to a panel of experts for tips on navigating the flock.

At Missouri State University, Dr. Elizabeth Walker is a professor with the School of Agricultural Science and Conservation. She offers insights on our hungry new friends in this Lawn Love article.
