As spring comes to a close, many students are packing up and leaving campus for the summer. Personal items are often accidentally left behind, including USB drives. Although seemingly harmless, USB drives may contain private information or even viruses, so make sure you follow the proper protocol if you come across one!
- Do not plug USB drives into a computer – Some drives may contain malicious malware that is automatically activated once plugged into a computer.
- Bring the USB to Lost & Found located at the PSU Information Desk – All lost and found drives are then safely and securely scanned and returned to the identified owner.
- Spread the word – Labeling a USB drive with contact information can help to ensure that drives are quickly returned if lost.
The owner of lost drives will be contacted by email with pickup instructions. Questions about lost drives should be directed to Computer Services Operations at (417)-836-4391
