Hospitality Leadership

Our teaching philosophy is also to undertake Consulting Projects

November 9, 2016 by Shawn Erdman

Working with wisely selected projects from a local company in Springfield, MO, Red Top Oven, owned by Jane Ford and Kathy Hubbard, DHL students worked together during a period of three weeks to develop a piece of consultancy to expand Red Top Oven’s operations to the electronic commerce. The project named “Consulting Website Project” involved students to researching, designing a website, and presenting marketing strategies for the company to follow. This practical opportunity to apply online marketing theories into practice developed students’ abilities as future hospitality leaders and offered their entrepreneurial character to local businesses.

With the guidance of Dr. Albert Barreda in the Department of Hospitality Leadership, the teams were responsible for designing a commercial Website that incorporate elements of content, interactivity, payment methods and social networking platforms.
