Hospitality Leadership

Cobos at the conference

Combining technology and hospitality

Dr. Liza Cobos looks at how gender affects hotel branded mobile apps usage.

May 30, 2019 by Tori York

Dr. Liza Cobos, assistant professor of hospitality leadership, attended the First International Conference on Smart Tourism, Smart Cities and Enabling Technologies (The Smart Conference) May 1 in Orlando, Florida.

Cobos presented her research, “Technology post-adoptive behaviors and gender among hotel branded mobile app users.”

Her research looks at a consumer’s use of hotel branded mobile apps. Then she looks at the gender differences that influence post-use behavior, like if they continue to use the mobile app and recommend the mobile app to family and friends.

Cobos enjoyed that the conference connected hospitality with technology.

“The Smart Conference allowed for two disciplines, which most assume to be unrelated, to present current applications, discuss research and explore how they merge,” Cobos said.

Cobos enjoyed the industry panels and presenting her research.
