Dr. Joshua Davis, department head of information technology and cybersecurity, received the Technology Executive of the Year Award in the fourth annual Biz 417 Magazine Excellence in Technology Awards.
“I feel deeply honored to be nominated and humbled by this recognition,” said Dr. Davis. “I know so many IT leaders in this community that are doing incredible work, and I feel blessed to partner with them.”
About the awards
The Technology Executive of the Year Award honors the leadership and vision it takes to successfully run a department, company or organization in Springfield.
Each year, Biz 417 and AITP of the Ozarks recognizes innovators in 417-land’s technology and business communities.
Out of over 50 nominees, only 18 finalists were chosen. Three corporate entities and three individuals were recognized for a total of six awards.
Corporate categories included Community Impact, Most Innovative Startup and Most Innovative Solution. Individual categories included Solution Designer of the Year, Technology Executive of the Year and Rising Star.
“While the award implies an individual achievement, almost nothing has been accomplished in the ITC department without the dedication of the entire team of faculty, staff and our student base. I am so proud of each of those outstanding individuals and want to share this recognition with them. Go Bears!” said Dr. Davis.
The winners were honored at an awards ceremony on Feb. 27 at The Old Glass Place. Winners also will be featured in the May/June issue of Biz 417.
