The College of Business (COB) is committed to providing students with a well-rounded educational experience to prepare them to enter a dynamic workforce. COB also seeks to reward students for their outstanding efforts through scholarship awards.
For the 2021-2022 academic year, the college awarded 259 scholarships totaling $347,765 to students across all departments.
“It is a great privilege to partner with our generous donors to provide support to our students,” said Dr. David Meinert, dean of the College of Business.
“Our recent scholarship recipients have demonstrated extraordinary resilience these past two years and exemplify the college’s tradition of academic excellence.”

Dreams become a reality at MSU
Among the scholarship recipients was Colin Weber from the small town of Hallsville, Missouri. Weber is a first-generation student studying human resources management with a minor in diversity studies.
“I’ve been extremely lucky to have strong relationships with my professors and academic advisor,” Weber said. “It has made being a first-generation student 10 times easier.”
“Throughout my time at MSU, I’ve been able to achieve a lot of things I didn’t think were possible.”
Weber serves as the chief of staff in the Student Government Association and has served as the chapter vice president of his fraternity, Theta Chi.
Recently, he was crowned Missouri State’s 100th Homecoming king.
“MSU donor-funded scholarships made it possible for me to do so much,” Weber said. “I feel like I have been able to give back through my campus involvement.”
Scholarships help students prosper
The Missouri State University Foundation connects with alumni and friends of the university to establish scholarships.
Over $2.6 million in foundation scholarship money was offered to students in the 2021-22 academic year. These scholarships can be combined with other university scholarships and grants to help students pay for school.
“Donors partner with the MSU Foundation to establish targeted scholarships for the types of students they would like to support,” said Kelsey Menefee, assistant director of donor relations and special events at MSU.
“There are truly life-changing scholarships available to students who apply for them,” Menefee added.
The MSU Foundation annual scholarship application is open every year from Nov. 1 to March 1.
