Why is Missouri State a good place to recruit students?
“We recruit at 10-20 campuses. Compared to some of the other campuses we recruit at, we have good retention ratios and retain most of the interns we offer internships to from Missouri State. We’ve grown our MSU alumni a lot over the past few years. They are all driven and excellent people. Ultimately, they have a hunger for success.”
Alex Coffin
Bachelor’s in finance and financial planning in 2020.
Account Manager at Lockton Companies in Kansas City.
While a student, Coffin received the President’s Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) scholarship; the Anita Benedetti Student Involvement Program (awarded to only 30 students nationwide), and the Virgil Cheek Memorial Award (recognizes exceptional academic achievement and leadership). Now, he recruits at MSU. Coffin recently hired two Bears from the career fair.
What is it like to recruit where you were a student not long ago?
“It was such an exciting experience for me to come back and do some recruiting. I had a great opportunity to reflect on my journey thus far considering I was on the other side of the table a year or two ago. I’m so thankful for all the faculty and staff at Missouri State that impacted my life; I cherished the opportunity to have a similar impact on others.”
Why is Missouri State a good place to recruit students?
“For one, diversity. There’s diversity in thought, diversity in background, religion, race, and gender. You’ll find students from all walks of life at MSU.
Second, Missouri State has top-tier talent. MSU is one of the biggest schools in the state and offers a challenging academic environment. When you’re coming to a career fair, there are competent, intelligent, accomplished students at Missouri State.”
