If you are passionate about fashion and dream of a career that combines design, technology and business acumen, Missouri State University’s BS in Merchandising and Fashion Design should be on your radar.
The program ranked 11th nationwide out of 25 selected programs by Bachelor’s Degree Center.
How the ranking is determined
The best fashion bachelor’s degrees are ranked by IPEDS (Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System) and Niche data. Evaluations covered things like cost, salary potential and student reviews.
“This ranking says it all — we’re recognized along with an elite group of fashion and design programs,” said Dr. Elizabeth Rozell, College of Business associate dean at MSU.
About the program
The program seamlessly integrates courses in fashion design and merchandising to provide students with a well-rounded education. Whether you aspire to be the next big fashion designer or have a keen interest in the business side of the industry, this program caters to your passions.
“Our program has embraced sustainability and digital design, and our new 3D lab provides students with career ready skills that employers value in the ever-changing world of fashion and design,” Rozell said.
Technical skills meet cutting-edge technology
Aspiring designers learn the technicalities of creating garments, from designing and pattern-making to constructing the final piece. But that’s not all; students also dive into the world of fashion design technologies, staying updated on the latest industry trends and tools.
Graduates of the program have gone on to work at internationally recognized firms like Walmart, Coach and Saks Fifth Avenue.
