A group of Missouri State University students have once again demonstrated their business leadership skills at the Future Business Leaders of America’s (FBLA) State Leadership Conference (SLC).
The event took place April 6 in Columbia, Missouri.
FBLA, known as the largest business career and technical student organization globally, provides invaluable opportunities for over 230,000 members annually to prepare for careers in business.
The SLC serves as a crucial platform for school chapters across the state to showcase their skills and compete for the chance to represent their school and state at the National Leadership Conference (NLC).
The top four finishers in all competed events advanced to the NLC in Orlando this year. It is scheduled from June 24-27.

- Business Ethics – 2nd place, Bethany Sluder (communications studies major).
- Impromptu – 2nd place, Sluder.
- Public Speaking – 2nd place, Thao Tran, (marketing major).
- Emerging Business Issues – 3rd place, Alvaro Del Rio Azabache, (management major).
- Foundations of Marketing – 5th place, Tran.
- Personal Interview – 5th place, Jessen Stafford, marketing.
Sluder, Tran and Del Rio Azabache qualified to compete at the NLC.
