Sixteen savvy marketing students from Missouri State University attended the American Marketing Association (AMA) International Collegiate Conference from April 11-13 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
The conference brings together all AMA chapters from across the U.S., Puerto Rico and Canada to network, engage in a variety of activities and compete against each other.
Student competitors from the MSU AMA chapter spanned from freshmen to seniors, including participation from an MBA student.
With a dynamic mix of talent and tenacity, these marketing maestros were not just attendees; they were on a mission to leave their mark on the competition and set the conference abuzz with their energy and innovation.
They stood out, wowing judges and networking with industry professionals.
The students
Student competitors included: Gavin Allred, Logan Bissey, Joshua Combs, Emiley Fritz, Michael Hill, Cody Houghton, Madelynn Jared, Amari Johnson, Natalie Kallen, Dylan Lammert, Jenna Nichols, Betsy Riggs, Megan Schleifer, Courtney Stanbury, Teagan Sumy and Chase Westover.

“AMA prepares students for this conference by improving their networking and interpersonal communication skills, as well as providing them with professional development opportunities,” said Westover, MSU AMA chapter president.
“These opportunities range from LinkedIn workshops and networking events to entrepreneurship speakers and marketing agency visits.”
Beyond competition
Besides competing, the MSU AMA chapter distinguished itself by hosting its inaugural session at the conference.
Titled, “Agency Networking Blitz,” the session allowed students from various AMA chapters to interact with each while discussing how their chapters manage and operate their student-run agencies.
