staffing2We are in need of banquet servers. Starting pay is $8.00/hour, and if eager and dependable, you can bump to $8.50 after 3-6 months. We work around school schedules, and you determine which shifts they want to pick up. You will also get to work at many different venues and see how each property goes through the process. It’s a great way to meet the right people and get a foot in the door.

Also, we are looking for Guest Service Agent for a large hotel in Springfield. The Guest Service Agent is responsible for providing guests with excellent service, as well as conducting registration and billing services in a professional, friendly manner. Responsibilities include greeting guests, perform check-ins and check-outs of guests daily, answering the telephone, making reservations, running daily reports, and ensuring organization at the front desk. Applicants must have experience in guest services, with a strong knowledge of Springfield and excellent computer skills. Knowledge of OPERA operating system is beneficial. Pay is $9.00/hour + incentive. Hours may include days, nights, and weekends, as well as holidays. Weekends are required.

If you are interested in applying, please complete an application at www.staffingplusspringfield.com, and refer to banquet server or guest service agent. Also, you need to reference that MSU Hospitality is who referred you.

We are having a special event on Saturday, October 15 from 6-9pm called Night at the Museum; it’s a fundraising event to help create scholarship opportunities for low income students so that all students can experience hands-on STEM education. We were hoping to get in contact with any student organizations within the Department of Hospitality Leadership that might be interested in volunteer opportunities for that evening, specifically working with our vendors at their food stations. We are looking for energetic students that want to learn about the operation of large special events from a hands-on, first-hand experience.  This is a unique opportunity for students to meet major donors and industry leaders of Springfield, and we would love for Hospitality Leadership students to be a part of this. Feel free to give me a call or send an email if I can answer any further questions—I look forward to hearing from you soon.
