Managing and Mediating Conflict for Supervisors

Dr. Erin Wehrman

Friday, April 12, 2024, 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Leaders often find themselves managing conflicts between others, whether among team members, other leaders, or outside individuals.  This mediating role can be challenging and awkward to navigate, but a lack of resolution can lead to decreased productivity and increased turnover, and overall dissatisfaction.  Learning how to help others resolve conflict is essential for leaders to develop successful and peaceful team dynamics.  This session focuses on enhancing mediation and conflict-resolution skills for leaders.

Growth From Failure

Dr. Carrisa S. Hoelscher

Wednesday, May 1, 2024, 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Challenge the norm of focusing solely on strengths and successes and explore the benefits of embracing failure as a tool for growth.  By examining mindsets, applying rules for constructive failure analysis, and understanding feedback, leaders will develop skills to harness setbacks for personal and professional development.  Through reflection, participants will gain self-awareness and resilience in their leadership journey.

Leadership as Framing

Dr. Carrisa S. Hoelscher

Wednesday, May 22, 2024, 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Discover how leaders use mindful communication framing to guide their teams through challenging situations.  Define framing in leadership communication, assess personal tendencies, explore alternative styles, and examine five essential rules for effective framing.  Enhancing your framing skills will equip you to lead your team through uncertainty, instill confidence, and cultivate a collective understanding of reality.
