CURP Retirement – Plan Transfer Letter

April 9, 2024 by Deidre Mings

Announcing important retirement plan changes to the Colleges & Universities Retirement Plan (CURP)

CURP retirement enrollees (Faculty) recently received a letter announcing a transfer of funds. CURP, while separate from the MOSERS pension plan, is still a part of the MO State retirement system. As such, MOSERS decided to replace the default TIAA Lifecycle funds with Nuveen Lifecycle Income.  The changes went live on or about March 25, 2024 and made on behalf of all plan participants.

The replacement investment option is one that has a lower cost structure, lower volatility and is structured in a way similar to the Mo deferred comp plan (457b) with MOSERS as a Collective Investment Trust (CIT, as opposed to a registered mutual fund).  Nuveen is a TIAA-owned company.

Example Letter

As a reminder, employees enrolled in the CURP retirement plan who have achieved 6 years of service are eligible to transfer to the MOSERS plan with immediate vesting. Please review the CURP to MOSERS Transfer Guide.
