Growth From Failure
Facilitator: Dr. Carrisa S. Hoelscher
Wednesday, May 1, 8:30-11:30 a.m., Pummill 305
As Supervisors, it is in our nature to want to focus on our strengths and successes, giving less attention to our mistakes and shortcomings. But what might happen if we did concentrate on our failures… not as irreversible flaws, but rather, as rich opportunities for growth?
In this course, we will examine the power of mindsets, apply three rules for focusing on failure in a constructive manner, explore the functions of feedback, and reflect on our own past failures through a lens of growth.
Thinking about failure in a positive way can be particularly important for leaders, both as a means of strengthening our own leadership skills, as well as providing more effective feedback to our team.
Reunite with fellow MSU LEAD Supervisors in exploring the wisdom of learning from failure.
The MSU LEAD ON workshops support continued professional development in the supervisor training, MSU LEAD OTHERS: The Supervisor Series.
