Know your Policies!

June 28, 2024 by Deidre Mings

June 28 marks National Insurance Awareness Day, urging a thorough review of your insurance coverage to avoid being underinsured.

Insurance provides essential security for loved ones and aids in recovering losses from damage, illness, or death.

While insurance doesn’t cover everything, it significantly alleviates financial burdens during crises. Remember to assess policies beyond employment, including auto, renters, and homeowners’ insurance, as well as those provided through employment like Medical, Dental, Vision, Identity protection,  Accident, Critical Illness, Short-term Disability, Universal, and Term Life Insurance. Mark your calendars for MSU’s annual open enrollment for health and supplemental insurance coverage from November 1 to December 1.

This day also prompts you to utilize any remaining Flexible Spending Account funds before expiration.
