Overview
The ability to transform complex content into everyday language is a talent that requires both technical and creative writing skills along with an understanding of unique audiences.
UMB is looking for a Marketing Communication Intern who possesses this talent. This person should have a solutions-based approach to projects and be able to think critically about how to make a message stick.
The Marketing Communication intern will create both long and short-form content for external and internal audiences about UMB products, services, internal information, and company news. The ideal candidate can work in collaboration with others and take ownership of independent work.
Skills Required
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of Associated Press style
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Background/studies in journalism, marketing, communication, English, public relations, or related field
- Understanding of internal and external communication channels and best practices, including social media
- Understanding of marketing basics, including market research tools, audience development and sales data; knowledge of marketing analytics is a plus
Qualifications
- Students entering their junior or senior year or recent graduates of accredited four-year degree program preferred; graduate students will also be considered
- Minimum GPA: 3.0
- Previous internship or relevant work experience preferred
- Must be available to work full-time for summer employment (typically May through August)
