Position Overview: Seeking a full-time Purchasing Intern in their Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for performing aspects of manufacturing and distribution operations activities, as applies to production, warehousing, and global product distribution which include process design/improvement, process documentation and checklist, cost/benefit analysis of projects, and reporting of results to management.
Essential Functions
- Support internal departments by procuring materials, equipment and services
- Analyze existing contractual terms and conditions
- Design processes, tools or systems to support ongoing Supplier Management requirements
- Assist with the creation, implementation, and maintenance of standardized departmental procedures
- Support Supplier RFPs
- Participate in contract negotiations
- Assist with onboarding new sources of supply and services
- Communicate effectively with internal customers and external suppliers, both domestic and foreign
Qualifications
- Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Transportation, Logistics, Analytics, Business Administration or a related field
- Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)
- Proficient using MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Superior organizational/analytical skills with keen attention to detail/quality
