The first Green Lunch of the school year will be taking place this Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at 11:30 am. The Green Lunch program at Missouri State University provides an opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to gather for lunch and discuss issues relating to sustainability on campus.
Wednesday’s Green Lunch discussion will include information about Missouri State’s campus garden as well as a presentation from the English department’s Green Team. The English department has taken the lead by establishing Missouri State’s first Green Team, led by Department Head Dr. Blackmon. The team promotes sustainable actions across campus, such as recycling and reducing energy costs.
Green lunches are slated to take place on a monthly basis and open to anyone who wishes to attend. This month’s Green Lunch will take place on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm in PSU 308 AB with presentations beginning at noon. Those attending are encouraged to bring their own lunch to the discussion.
