Kinsley Stocum joined SGA the fall of her sophomore year as the representative for Gamma Pi Alpha. During her first semester, she worked with Chris Polley’s committee on setting up the Alternative Spring Break. That spring, she unfortunately had to step down as a Senator because she spent the semester out of country. Fall 2009 she returned to SGA as the representative for Honors College and has been involved in Jon Stubbelfield’s Student Affairs Committee, helping to set up a space for student artwork in the Blair-Shannon dining center, join the Public Arts Committee as an SGA representative, and designed the Bears Backing Haiti logo. She continues to work on a host of other projects for the students of Missouri State University. Kinsley says she loves being a Senator and feels she’s making a positive impact on student life at Missouri State.

Congratulations to our October Senator of the Month – Christy Ha!
Hi! The name my parents gave me is Christy Thanh Linh Ha. I’m a freshman at Missouri State University, hoping to get a BA in Professional Writing and Spanish, with a minor in Communications. This is my first time in SGA and within SGA, I serve on the Research and Development as well as the Diversity and Public Affairs Committees. I do not really have favorites because I like too many things; however, here are a few things I very much enjoy: the Lord of the Rings movies (extended editions, of course), the Harry Potter series,Pride and Prejudice, footie pajamas, homecooked Asian food, and bright colors. Several fun facts about me exist. Here are a few: I’ve eaten horse before—raw, I’m half Vietnamese, and I love hugs!
