We have lots of great students in our dietetics program and we feel fortunate to work with them each day. It is wonderful when our students are recognized not only by the dietetics and BMS faculty, but also by the university. The dietetics faculty is pleased to announce that one of our seniors, Melanie Morgan, was chosen for the prestigious university-wide Citizens Scholar Award.
The Citizen Scholar Award was initiated in 2007 as a special Board of Governors program to recognize outstanding citizen scholars at Missouri State University. Forty-seven students since 2007 have been recognized for his/her stellar achievements with academics, community engagement and leadership.
Melanie has traveled around the globe to providing hot meals to the impoverished, teaching nutrition lessons to families, and conducting anthropometric research. She visited El Salvador on an MSU sponsored study abroad trip. She has also volunteered in Tanzania, Senegal and Guatemala. Congratulations Melanie!
