Genetics and Genomics…Say What?!

August 26, 2019 by Natalie Allen

Dr. Brodeur, CMB faculty, presenting research at a genetics conference

Dr. Amanda Brodeur, MD, PhD, faculty member of Biomedical Sciences Department, attended the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics annual meeting in Seattle, WA April 1-6, 2019.  Her abstract was selected for poster presentation and she presented the “Evaluation of Bone Biomarkers in the Characterization of the Skeletal Phenotype in Idua-W392X Knock-In Mice as a Model of Mucopolysaccharidosis Type I” on April 5, 2019.

In addition to the presentation,  Dr. Brodeur learned exciting information for BMS 230, our undergraduate genetics class.  She updated her knowledge concerning Human Medical Genetics and is looking forward to including sharing this innovative information with her students.  In addition, she was able to network with local, state, and regional Genetics professionals to promote Missouri State University students and graduates within the field of Medical Genetics.  Great job Dr. Brodeur!
