Dietitians are part of the healthcare team, often practicing in clinical settings such as hospitals.  As part of the Medical Nutrition Therapy course, taught by Dr. Anne Marie Hunter, students receive real experience at the Missouri State Simulation Lab.  Students practice nutrition focused physical exams and gain hands-on experience, which will help with patients down-the-road.

Also, don’t forget, dietetics is a great road to many diverse careers that focus on health.  Dietetics majors can go onto other professional areas, such as Physician Assistant, Medical School, Optometry, and pre-Pharmacy, PT, OT.  The solid clinical/science base provided by dietetics, along with the common denominator of nutrition affecting many areas of health, provides a great path into many healthcare careers.
