We need to have a brief network outage tonight around midnight to upgrade some equipment. The outage should only be a minute or two and none of the Banner infrastructure will be affected. However, anything originating from a campus network and connecting to Banner or any other outside destinations will be interrupted during this time.
The Banner quarterly upgrade is complete and the system has been verified by Information Services personnel and relevant functional areas. The verification was completed around 2:00 pm. If you encounter any issues with Banner or related systems, please use the normal support channels to report it.
On Sunday 26 April 2026, Banner Q1 upgrades will be applied to the production system.
During this time, you should plan for Banner and related systems to be unavailable between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm. We strive to complete the upgrade as quickly as possible but sometimes need the extra time to finish everything. Rest assured we will make the system available again as soon as the upgrade is complete.
The following primary systems will be unavailable during the upgrade:
- My Missouri State
- Admin Banner
- Argos, including Bear Intelligence
- Banner Document Management (BDM)
- Self-service 9, including Employee Profile, Student Profile, Registration, and Faculty Assignments
- Custom web applications (Grails and Django), including Who-What, ATLAS, and Class Dashboard
- Any other system that relies on a direct connection to Banner
The following systems will not be impacted:
- University networks
- Phone systems
- Main (public) websites
- Brightspace
- Office 365
- Email services
- Video surveillance systems
- Electronic door access
- Application for admission

We need to apply security patches to our web servers that run Grails and Django. Typically, we can do these with minimal or no outage. At most, we’ll have a 15-20 minute outage after 5pm on Tue 7 April 2026. All custom web applications, including ATLAS, Who-What, and Class Dashboard, will potentially be affected during this time.
