Last month, in January 2025, students embarked on an unforgettable journey through Spain as part of the Trade and Culture in Spain Study Abroad program, led by David Hammons, a Marketing Department instructor. Their itinerary was packed with enriching experiences, including a visit with personnel from the U.S. Embassy in Madrid, a tour of the stunning Royal Palace, and partaking in a Flamenco dance performance. Students also explored Spain’s deep historical roots with day trips to the ancient aqueduct of Segovia and the breathtaking medieval fortress city of Toledo.
In Barcelona, they were captivated by the awe-inspiring grandeur of the Sagrada Familia Cathedral, marveling at its intricate design and soaring spires. The city’s vibrant energy continued as students immersed themselves in its passionate sports culture, cheering on the local team at an exhilarating professional soccer match.
Spain’s excellent rail system made travel a breeze, allowing students to visit Valencia’s coast for a tour of the container port, its world-renowned beaches, and the birthplace of seafood paella.
Everywhere students traveled in this vibrant and historically celebrated country, they were immersed in its rich culture, from the lively traditions and heritage to the warm hospitality of its people. They savored the diverse cuisine and gained valuable insights into the country’s unique business practices, which were deeply woven into its daily life and economy.
The Marketing Department thanks instructor Hammons for leading students on their trip to Spain.
