At the last Senate meeting of the Fall 2009 semester, the Student Government Association voted to support the republication of the Ozarko. The Ozarko was the University yearbook that was in publication from 1909 until 1992. After 1992, publication ceased. By reinstating a yearbook, history will be recorded, school pride will be boosted, and memories will be treasured for years to come.
The Student Affairs Committee is currently overseeing this project, and the Office of Web and New Media has agreed to help with the logistics of the project. The yearbook will be in an online format, and campus members can submit feature stories and pictures online that will be compiled and formatted by an editorial board. The goal is to have an issue out by the end of next semester, which would mark 101 years since its first publication.
If you have ideas on what should be included in the new Ozarko, please take the public opinion poll or contact Jon Stubblefield at stubblefield129@live.missouristate.edu.
