The Mountain Grove Cellars held its Advanced Home Winemaking Workshop yesterday. Class size was limited due to the hands-on nature of the workshop. Dr. Karl Wilker presented information concerning laboratory analysis of wine to the 11 participants in the morning and C. J. Odneal and Dr. Wilker led a tour of the winery distillery during the mid-morning break. Lucas Snodgrass, graduate student in Plant Science with an emphasis in enology, demonstrated general analytical procedures in the lab with Dr. Wilker and Todd Frye of the Ozark Home Brewery in Ozark demonstrated user friendly analytical tools that he recommends to his customers. The day ended with a demonstration of sensory evaluation of our Catawba wine. Thanks to Dr. Johnson of Lincoln University for several of the photos used in this gallery!
