Mushroom production workshop held today

People enjoyed the lunch, some indoors and others outdoors, either way there was plenty of time to talk.

The Mushroom Production Workshop was held today and went well. The morning sessions consisted of lecture presentations and in the afternoon the participants toured four separate stations - Preservation, Shroom Room and Compost Display, Mushroom Pod, and Packaging Cooler / Sales area. Mushroom pod delivered today

The Mushroom Pod arrives at Mountain Grove.

Setting up the spent mushroom compost demonstration

Trace affixes the strings to support the tomato plants while Emily helps line up the locations of the eye bolts. Randy keeps the ladder steady.

Emily and Trace, Missouri State summer student interns, and Randy Stout, field supervisor, set up the spent mushroom compost demonstration. This demo will be featured at the Mushroom Production Workshop to be held on Thursday, August 19, 2021. Shroom room upgrade underway

Bob and Wendy build the production unit for the portabella / baby bella mushrooms. These mushrooms do not require light to grow.

As part of the new project "Evaluation of Satellite Mushroom Prefabricated Pod Production", we are upgrading our existing Shroom Room where we raised mushrooms in 2019 and 2020 to have a more controlled environment.
