I went out to record grape bud phenology but not much was happening with them. They were bleeding, but the buds were not pushing. I rated Catawba, Vignoles, Vidal Blanc, Norton, Concord and Sunbelt at stage 1 (winter bud) of the Modified E-L system of grapevine growth stages. Chambourcin, Cayuga White, Seyval Blanc and Traminette looked a bit further along and scales were just beginning to open on some of the spurs on those varieties, but I would not say they were yet at stage 2.

There were lovely blossoms of star magnolia, Cornelian cherry dogwood, Forsythia, apricot, red maple and some daffodils!
