What's happening in the field?

At the Missouri State Fruit Experiment Station

USA Staff Ambassadors tours the State Fruit Experiment Station

September 16, 2021 by Marilyn Odneal

The Missouri State USA Staff Ambassadors, led by Debbie Donnellan, toured the State Fruit Experiment Station today. Welcomed by Dr. Hwang, the EPSNR Department Head, everyone introduced themselves. We then talked about the Experiment Station and then tasted the Missouri State University Winery and Distillery produced wines. Jeremy Emery, Shelia Long, and Pam Turner ran the tasting. The Staff Ambassadors are given the opportunity to order wines that they liked and then toured the winery and distillery with Jeremy and Dr. Karl Wilker. After the wine tour, they loaded hay wagons for a hayride out into the field and research area to see the orchards and vineyards. Susanne Howard and Jennifer Morganthaler led the field tour. Leslie Akers and Pam took orders from the group for wines and other products and filled the orders at the end of the tour. We all had a great time!
