What is Mercy Express Care?
Mercy Express Care (MEC) is an innovative, fully digital care service that enables consumers to seek and receive care from anywhere, anytime for minor health issues. Adding Express Care to the Mercy continuum of care expands their ability to provide convenient, affordable care to patients in the most appropriate and lowest cost setting.
How does it work?
Using asynchronous technology, Mercy Express Care allows patients to complete an online exam at their convenience.
Through Artificial Intelligence, the exam adapts the questions depending on the patient’s responses and serves up a suggested diagnosis and treatment plan.
Mercy providers review the responses and medical history to either confirm the recommendations or determine a more appropriate diagnosis and treatment plan.
Medications may also be prescribed by a Mercy provider as part of the treatment plan and will be sent to the patients preferred pharmacy, including Magers pharmacy.
When appropriate, the treatment plan may call for the patient to connect with a Mercy clinic provider for a virtual or in-person primary care visit.
