High Tunnel Update

Red Pontiac potatoes and yellow onions were planted in the high tunnel by our field crew on February 20th. These crops are purchased by us for use in our annual fish fries and other events. We also have some ginger and turmeric growing on a heat mat in the greenhouse and we will transfer this to the high tunnel just to have a store of the cultivars available. Grape cuttings of State Fruit Experiment Station releases collected today

Grape cuttings of station releases are places in the heated rooting bed. Shelia Long and Jeremy Emery are placing the cuttings. Anthony Emery, in the background, is job shadowing Jeremy, our field supervisor, as part of his work at Mountain Grove High School.

The row of State Fruit Experiment Station grape cultivar releases came under our general management today. We took cuttings of reestablish these cultivars to a different location on the station. The cultivars that were alive in this planting to be reestablished are Ozark Prize, Gasconade, Challenger, Eleven Point, Beaver, Tetra, Bokay and Piney.
