Welcome back from our winter break. I hope everyone had a relaxing time off!

Missouri State University awards honorary degrees to exceptional persons of notable intellectual, scholarly, professional and/or creative achievement, or service to humanity consistent with our university’s public affairs mission.

On Dec. 19, I had the pleasure of informing David Trottier, a long-time Missouri State supporter (Trottier Plaza), that he’ll receive an honorary bachelor’s degree as conferred by the Faculty Senate and the Board of Governors. We’ll officially award his degree during the spring 2024 commencement. Check out this article to learn more about Trottier.

Celebrate MLK Jr. Day

We have many opportunities to celebrate the legacy of Martin Luther King (MLK) Jr. over the coming week. In the spirit of the day, we encourage everyone to use the day to contribute to the community via volunteer service as you’re able. Take note of:

• Annual MLK Jr. Day March at 8:30 a.m. Jan. 15 starting from the Jordan Valley Ice Park.
• Song and Voice Celebration at the Gillioz Theatre following the march.

Staff Awards Luncheon

Please join us for the Staff Awards Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Jan. 10 in the Hammons Student Center.

It’s fun to catch up with co-workers and recognize those who have made an impact at MSU and/or in the community. BearWear is encouraged.
