Construction is a distinct sign of a university on the move. Across Missouri State University, cranes, fencing and hard hats signal investment and momentum in our future.

Currently, there are 165 projects on campus that range from quick upgrades to major renovations. While that number ebbs and flows almost daily as projects wrap up and new ones begin, all contribute toward creating the best possible environment for our faculty, staff and students.

Between now and Homecoming in the fall, we’ll complete more than $205 million worth of work. That’s a major milestone and one that will be visible all over campus. These facilities support teaching and learning, research, student life and community engagement.

A few highlights

Addition and renovation, Roy Blunt Hall

The addition (phase I) is almost completed. Final items, including monument signage and auditorium lighting, furnishings and lab equipment, will be done throughout January and February.

The existing building renovation (phase II) is progressing well across all levels. Most floors are largely finished with crews completing final touches. The roofing work is nearly completed, and work is underway on the upper north levels.

Judith Enyeart Reynolds Performing Arts Complex

Work is steady on both the Craig Hall addition and the new building. Interior spaces are taking shape and exterior work is moving along, including the roof, windows and brick.

Clifton M. Smart III University Advancement Center

The interior work continues while exterior glass and weatherproofing are almost done. The rooftop air handler installation is complete.

Ann Kampeter Health Sciences Hall

The phase II renovation includes completion of the fourth floor with office furniture installed, while finishing work continues throughout the building.

I appreciate your patience and flexibility during all this construction work. From noise to detours to dust and temporary disruptions, I know it can be inconvenient. But keep in mind the long-term payoff – enhanced spaces we can enjoy and be proud of.
