Since July 28, there have been five motor vehicle thefts reported on or near campus. Three of the incidents occurred at student organizations on Elm Street and two incidents occurred on campus parking lots. Three of the vehicles did not show any sign of forced entry, one vehicle was entered by force, and the keys were left in the last vehicle.

The incidents were reported to the Springfield Police Department. One vehicle was recovered and a suspect was arrested during the recovery of the vehicle. The Springfield Police Department is investigating the incidents.
