Empower yourself at the Collaborative Diversity Conference. The event runs April 24-26 at Plaster Student Union on the Missouri State University campus.

MSU employees can attend for free April 25-26. Register through My Learning Connection via My Missouri State. You’ll earn professional development credit.

You can also attend a pre-conference session on April 24 for $150.

April 27: Just for students

Students lead the way on April 27. The MoState Student Summit is a student-only conference and part of the Collaborative Diversity Conference.

Social media kit: Fifth annual Missouri Public Affairs Hall of Fame

Missouri Public Affairs Hall of Fame Statue

The state of Missouri will soon be honoring some of its finest citizens for their outstanding work for the betterment of others through the Missouri Public Affairs Hall of Fame.

The fifth class of honorees in the Hall of Fame — Peter Herschend, Jean Carnahan, Phyllis Washington, General John J. Pershing and Lane McConnell — are set for induction on April 13, 2018. The induction ceremony and banquet is open to the public, but guests must purchase tickets to attend.

You can show your support for these outstanding individuals by spreading the word about the Missouri Public Affairs Hall of Fame and its honorees.

Missouri Public Affairs Hall of Fame dinner and induction ceremony

April 13, 2018, 6-8 p.m.

Where

White River Conference Center in Springfield, Missouri

Who

The dinner and induction ceremony is open to the public, but guests must purchase tickets to attend. The honorees set for induction into the Hall of Fame are Peter Herschend, Jean Carnahan, Phyllis Washington, General John J. Pershing and Lane McConnell.

Tickets

$40 per person. You can purchase tickets online.

As if being a professional basketball player and corporate sales leader wasn’t impressive enough, Will Allen can now add MacArthur “Genius” Grant winner, author and CEO to his resume. Allen not only founded Growing Power Inc., he is also known as one of the preeminent agriculture and food policy thinkers of our time.

Allen wrote “The Good Food Revolution” to share his story and discuss how his grassroots movement is changing the way the country eats. Allen believes that we must have healthy food systems in order to have healthy communities.

He will address the Missouri State University and Springfield communities at the 2017 Fall Convocation.
