Dr. Mandy Benedict-Chambers, Associate Professor in Childhood Education and Family Studies, has received an Assessment Grant for her project titled Developing a Strategic Vision for the Elementary Education Graduate Program. In her project, “Faculty will assess current practices in recruitment and admission to the program as well as student learning goals and outcomes for each course and for the program as a whole. Using this information, faculty will develop a strategic vision for improving the program’s recruitment and retention practices as well as a vision for graduate student learning outcomes. Faculty will determine and articulate what makes the Elementary Education Graduate Program a unique, transformative, and impactful program for elementary teachers.” This project will be used for program improvement by using the results of analyzing the program data to develop the strategic vision for the program. The new plan will be implemented during the Spring 2020 semester and beyond.
The Office of Assessment would like to congratulate Dr. Benedict-Chambers on her Assessment Grant and commend her for her improvement of student learning and graduate studies here at Missouri State.
