One project I’ve been particularly excited to work on this year is developing a new dashboard with my colleagues in Institutional Effectiveness for the undergraduate exit survey results. The undergraduate exit survey provides valuable insight into students’ experiences, perspectives, and overall satisfaction as they prepare to graduate. While the data have always been available through the Assessment and Accreditation office, finding meaningful information among student comments and Public Affairs essays often required digging through reports and spreadsheets.
The goal of the new dashboard is to make that information easier to access and use. By organizing survey results into an interactive, user-friendly format, faculty and staff will be able to explore trends more efficiently, identify opportunities for improvement, and better understand the student experience. Users can quickly find the information most relevant to their needs when they need it.
Projects like this are an important part of assessment because data are most valuable when easily understood and applied. Our hope is that this dashboard will help connect the rich feedback students provide with meaningful conversations and informed decision making across campus.
As we move closer to launching the dashboard, I’m looking forward to gathering feedback from colleagues and identifying additional ways to make assessment data more meaningful and actionable. Ultimately, the project supports our shared goal of using evidence to enhance student success and continuously improve the educational experience.
