MSU sales students Sam Bromley and W. Russell Wood demonstrated their selling prowess at the International Collegiate Sales Competition (ICSC) held at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida on November 8-10, 2013. The duo competed against 80 selling students from 40 of the nation’s top sales programs (e.g., Baylor, Florida State, Kennesaw State, Illinois State, Kansas State, Texas State, and Akron) in an event that consisted of multiple elimination rounds of sales calls with the scenario dynamics changing each round. Sam Bromley placed in the top eight in the field of 80 students by making it to the semi-finals. He narrowly missed advancing to the finals. According to Sam Bromley, “It was an unbelievable experience competing against the best sales talent in the nation in MSUs first ever intercollegiate sales competition appearance.” W. Russell Wood performed admirably in the competition but was unable to advance past a very competitive wild card round.
