Our students are the reason why we do what we do at Missouri State University. They bring life to our classrooms, energy to our campus and purpose to our work.

This week and next, we have two key events focused on students – the first celebrates current Bears who found a new beginning here and the second will welcome students who are considering becoming Bears.

Celebrating transfer students

National Transfer Student Week takes place in the third week of October each year to celebrate transfer students and those who helped them navigate the transition. Our transfer students at Missouri State have found their place on campus after starting somewhere else and they make our university better.

The Academic Advising and Transfer Center has planned a few activities to celebrate and support our transfer students this week. You’re welcome to join in, mingle with them and hear about their experiences.

Showcasing the Bear experience

On Oct. 25, we’ll host Showcase, our largest recruitment event of the year. Hundreds of prospective students and their families will get to experience campus firsthand. They’ll go on tours, learn more about the admission process, scholarships and financial aid and meet with faculty and current students.

Showcase represents our university at its best – welcoming, engaging and full of opportunity. I invite you to be part of this important event because your presence truly matters. Whether you’re giving a presentation, leading a tour, greeting guests and offering a warm welcome, you help future students see themselves as part of our community.
