Dr. Stefanie Livers: Analyzing Teacher Candidate’s Assessments

Dr. Stefanie Livers, Assistant Professor in Childhood Education and Family Studies received an Assessment Grant for her project, Analyzing Teacher Candidate’s Assessments. This project plans to analyze teacher candidate data from the MoCA.  Faculty will analyze problematic content areas and compare MoCA content with course content. Faculty will then determine the next steps for the program, including potentially revising courses, providing preparation sessions for teacher candidates, and creating assessment models for teacher candidates to use for preparation.

Dr. Livers explains, “The Elementary Program Faculty are dedicated to our students. We want to ensure that we are providing the necessary supports for our teacher candidates and their success with the MoCA. We will be analyzing the MoCA data and content, aligning it to program components and then creating additional supports for students.”

The Office of Assessment appreciates the dedication of Childhood Education and Family Studies to assess student learning and prepare teacher candidates to meet program and state requirements through this research.
