Well, it looks like we made it through the freeze last week without any major fruit flower damage. This means we are still on for a good crop of peaches and apples this year, at least for our area. Checking the the various fruit crop flowers I saw some damage to the pears but still a good crop, we will not have to thin. Apples looked good also. that is what our weatherstation recorded last night. it is a degree lower than the 28 that Marylin discussed, so I guess we will have to wait and see. Freeze damage will not be obvious until a couple of days later, when the dead tissues have turned brown. Well, we are keeping our fingers crossed that the temperature does not drop as low as predicted tonight. Susanne says spring is on hold, but that is a good thing. If it had been very warm the last couple of days, the hazard would be greater. Weather.com predicts a low of 28F tonight. Our peaches are in full bloom with some petal fall.
