A home grower dropped off some pecan limbs that were girdled and then fell to the ground. We suspect the Twig Girdler based on the Extension Bulletin Twig Girdler and Twig Pruner.

The Twig Girdler leaves a smooth cut on the outside with a ragged center where the twig breaks. The Adult femail twig girdler chews V shaped grooves around the twig.
