The 2018 Greenhouse and High Tunnel Workshop was held on Wednesday and Thursday, October 17 - 18 at the State Fruit Experiment Station in Mountain Grove. Fifty-seven participants attended. During the summer, we did a trial run to produce oyster mushrooms in bags to prepare for our Greenhouse and High Tunnel Workshop demonstration plantings. After working the process out, we prepared more bags for mushroom production in the high tunnel (reserving some for the well house Shroom Room as backup). The first mushrooms were harvested yesterday, August 19. We are harvesting the clump when the edge of the largest mushroom changes from concave (curled downward) to convex (beginning to curl upward or not convex anymore).
