In early November, MSU marketing students Austin McCloud and Conor Reinhardt competed against students from more than 50 universities at the International Collegiate Sales Competition held at the Caribe Royale Resort in Orlando, Florida. The duo qualified to represent MSU based on their role play performances in their advanced selling class, which is part of the specialized sales program offered by the Marketing Department in the College of Business. As one of only approximately 80 specialized sales undergraduate programs in the nation, the sales and sales management emphasis and minor is effectively training Missouri State’s future sales professionals for dynamic sales careers.
The Missouri State Sales Team is coached by Dr. Allen Schaefer and Dr. Alex Hamwi. According to Allen, “We had a great team this year and it was awesome to see them make a strong showing against students from the nation’s top selling programs.” Austin adds, “It was a great experience and one of the best things I could have done for my future while in college.” At the conclusion of the event, students and their coaches enjoyed an afternoon at the Universal Studios Theme Park in Orlando.
