Jack Rodenberg, a Supply Chain senior in the Department of Marketing at Missouri State University, recently won the prestigious all-expenses paid trip sponsorship to attend CSCMP EDGE Conference Scholarship via the CSCMP KC Roundtable in Kissimmee, Florida in October on 1st-4th. This conference is industry focused and organized by the largest SCM association.
CSCMP (Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals) members are the backbone of the supply chain management and logistics industries around the world, and the EDGE conference brings together academic advisors, career services professionals, and faculty from across the world for a day of professional development designed to encourage integrated career and academic planning.
When asked about Jack from his professor who had recommended that he apply to this scholarship, Gawon Yun, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Logistics and Supply Chain Management said, “Jack is a brilliant student who is motivated to learn and passionate about the supply chain field. He is particularly interested in data driven approaches in operations and supply chain decisions. I am proud Jack was able to attend the CSCMP EDGE conference, one of the largest supply chain conferences, and expand his knowledge through CSCMP KC Roundtable Scholarship that he deserves.”
Jack himself proudly reported back saying, “CSCMP EDGE is the premier supply chain conference in Orlando, Florida. The conference was packed with great keynote speakers, Supply Chain Executives from PepsiCo, and Target. PepsiCo’s SVP of Customer Supply Chain and G2M (Go to Market) spoke about different kinds of automation they leverage in their DCs, sustainable packaging changes that increase supply chain visibility and the rise he has seen in remote work culture. Another keynote was MIT’s Yossi Sheffi who spoke about AI as it relates to supply chain, former white house economist Marianne Wannamaker who spoke on the current labor market.”
He went on to add, “CSCMP hosts many different roundtables across the US and they serve as smaller branches that look to connect and grow supply chain professionals in the region. I was recommended for this opportunity by Dr Gawon Yun and I attended the conference with the following others from KC Roundtable:
Taylor Stolarski – Honeywell FM&T, John Faur – Newmark Zimmer, Jackson Jobe – Sponsored Student (Kansas State), Lauren Kish – Sponsored Student (University of Kansas). The event was an incredible opportunity and a great chance to connect with SCM professionals across the US and spanning all disciplines. I couldn’t be more grateful for CSCMP, Dr Yun, and the KC Roundtable.”
The Marketing Department is proud of Jack Rodenberg hard work and accomplishments. Congratulations, Jack and Dr.Yun!
