On Tuesday 8-7-18 storms passed over the Fruit Station and damaged one of the Pecan Trees in the Northern Pecan Tree Cultivar Trial. The weather station recorded 42.9 mph peak wind gusts and a 'Mandan' Pecan tree was broken off at ground level. 'Mandan' cultivar originated from a controlled cross made in Brownwood, Texas in 1985.
