Nutrition Talks – Fall 2019
Are you interested in learning about the latest nutrition “hot” topics? If so, you are in luck as we have some excellent Nutrition Talks planned for the Fall 2019 Semester! All Nutrition Talks are presented by registered dietitians and/or faculty members in Biomedical Sciences. Additionally, due to our love of food, a healthy meal will be served at each session!
Wait… What’s for Dinner?? An Update on Meat Substitutes – Tuesday, Aug 27th (5:15 – 6:30 PM)
The Impossible Burger. The Beyond Burger. Clean meat. You have heard of these products, but what are they really? And, are they healthy? In this session, you will learn why meat substitutes are increasing in popularity, the ingredients and nutrients found in popular products, and how advancements in food science technology are affecting the food industry. Plus, you will get to taste a few of these products!
