We are experiencing network difficulties that are affecting multiple systems in the Cheek Hall data center. This includes some of the wireless controllers. Our whole team is trying to find the source of the problems. We will convey information as it becomes available.
Banner and many associated systems experienced a problem overnight that interrupted service. The problem has been resolved and services restored.

To maintain the University’s technology infrastructure at the level required to ensure reliable and secure delivery of services and technologies, Information Services will be applying updates to the Banner environment on Sunday morning, June 9, 2019.
On June 9, 2019, the following systems will be upgraded and therefore unavailable:
- 6:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. – Banner will not be available.
There will be no impact to other systems such as: University networks, phone systems, main websites, Blackboard, Office 365, email services, CashNet, video surveillance systems, electronic door access systems, and the application for admission.

Routine upgrades to the University’s mission critical networks and information systems are necessary to provide reliable and secure technology-related services. These upgrade activities are scheduled for times when the disruption to the University community are minimized. Plan accordingly, as the University’s networks and information systems will be unavailable during the upgrade period.
- May 25, 2019 from 12:01 a.m. – 12:20 a.m. – Internet on campus will be unavailable, as we do an upgrade to the internet firewall.
- May 25, 2019 from 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. – University networks and the majority of information systems will be unavailable. The Information Services team is moving critical services to a more reliable hosting environment, moving a database cluster to faster hardware for performance improvement, and implementing additional network segmentation for added security.
